International Falcon Breeding Farms Auction to Kick off Tomorrow pattern

Riyadh, August 04, 2023,
The Saudi Falcon Club announced that the 3rd edition of its International Auction for Falcon Breeding Farms is scheduled to take place at the club's headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh tomorrow. The event will span 21 days, from August 5th through to the 25th.

Leading falcon breeding farms from 14 countries participate in the auction to assemble an elite selection of falcon breeds from all corners of the world. This event stands as the largest of its kind in the region, preserving and enhancing the heritage and traditions of falconry at the national level, supporting production farms, and thereby reinforcing the Kingdom's status as a global hub for falcons and falconers.

The Saudi Falcon Club organizes this auction with a vision to establish a reliable and safe market for falconers and falcon producers. This initiative aligns with the club's mission of leading in the field of development and innovation in the hobby of falconry, breeding, production, and care. It also serves as a cultural and economic booster and a platform for promoting environmental awareness.

In its previous two editions, the International Auction for Falcon Breeding Farms recorded total sales exceeding 10 million Riyals through the sale of over 800 falcons, with participation from about 25 leading production farms. Notably, the auction marked a record for the sale of the world's most expensive Qarmousha "Gear" falcon, an Ultra White breed from the "Pacific Northwest" farm in the United States, for a staggering 1,750,000 Riyals. It measures 16.50 inches in width and length, while weighing 980 grams.

The auction coincides with the recent introduction of six new rounds within the Al-Melwah competition at the King Abdulaziz Falcon Festival, specifically for falcons acquired by falconers from the international auction. Scheduled from November 28 to December 14, the festival will allow falcons from the auction to participate in all other rounds of the Al-Melwah competition. This initiative by the club follows the notable results achieved by these falcons in the Al-Melwah "Da'w" competitions.
